More on Sexual Politics

There's a fairly lively discussion of this article on my LJ. It's about how there are way more successful black women than there are male peers for them to marry, prompting one woman's 6th grade class to tell her, "Marriage is for White People." Which I find highly disheartening.

Then again, I really agree with the point made at the end of the article which is that many successful women don't get married because they've got no incentive to marry, especially given the lame guys they've got as potential partners. Maybe I'm just having a bad day.
